چکیده
A laminated Pd-Cu alloy/C/Nafion multilayer was prepared to sense O2 atmosphere in a metal-air structure. As matrix, palladium doped with various amounts of copper conduct preliminary test optimum response, and four compositions, Pd, Pd8Cu2, Pd6Cu4, Pd5Cu5, were selected as the candidate electrodes. It found that Pd6Cu4/C electrode showed higher sensitivity for all According phase identification X-ray diffraction photoelectron spectroscopy tests, high attributed Cu, which merged into Pd matrix repel out Pd-skin layer on surface. In alloy, Cu site served template reaction break O-O bond reduce interaction force adsorbated oxygen site. During reduction reaction, not only did decomposition molecules occur electrode, but itself proceeded transformation valance oxide, PdO3. The sensing potential determined by polarization curves flat region resulting from diffusion-control adopted. Chronoamperometric measurements employed construct calibration successive response measured endurance, appreciable decay. We also tested selectivity introducing series disturbance gases, CO, SO2, NO2, Pd6Cu4 prevailed over other

Development of ruthenium-based bimetallic electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction
Ruthenium-based bimetallic electrocatalysts with non-noble metals such as Ti, Cr, Fe, Co and Pb were synthesized on a porous carbon support sing a chelation process. Rotating ring disk electrode measurements indicated that RuFeNx/C showed the catalytic activity and selectivity toward he four-electron reduction of oxygen to water comparable to those of the conventional Pt/C catalysts. The perfor...
متن کاملPreparation of Bimetallic Pd-Co Nanoparticles on Graphene Support for Use as Methanol Tolerant Oxygen Reduction Electrocatalysts
Graphene-supported (40-x) wt% Pd x wt% Co (0≤x≤13.33) alloys/composites have been prepared by a microwave-assisted polyol reduction method and been investigated for their structural and electrocatalytic properties for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in 0.5 M H2SO4 at 298 K. The study demonstrated that the bimetallic Pd-Co composite nanoparticles are, in fact, alloy nanoparticles with fcc cr...

Pd−Au bimetallic catalysts have shown promising performance for a number of oxidative reactions. The present study utilizes reactive molecular beam scattering (RMBS), reflection−absorption infrared spectroscopy (RAIRS), temperatureprogrammed desorption (TPD), and density functional theory (DFT) techniques in an attempt to enhance the fundamental understanding of oxygen activation and reaction w...
متن کاملPd-Pt bimetallic nanodendrites with high activity for oxygen reduction.
Controlling the morphology of Pt nanostructures can provide a great opportunity to improve their catalytic properties and increase their activity on a mass basis. We synthesized Pd-Pt bimetallic nanodendrites consisting of a dense array of Pt branches on a Pd core by reducing K2PtCl4 with L-ascorbic acid in the presence of uniform Pd nanocrystal seeds in an aqueous solution. The Pt branches sup...
متن کاملInvestigation of Supported Pd-Based Electrocatalysts for the Oxygen Reduction Reaction: Performance, Durability and Methanol Tolerance
Next generation cathode catalysts for direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) must have high catalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), a lower cost than benchmark Pt catalysts, and high stability and high tolerance to permeated methanol. In this study, palladium catalysts supported on titanium suboxides (Pd/TinO2n-1) were prepared by the sulphite complex route. The aim was to impro...
